Charity Golf Event
As we enter our fourth year in Northeast Florida, we are extremely proud to announce our new venue in Jacksonville, Florida. Our event will be hosted by the Atlantic Beach Country Club on May 13, 2024. This is an exceptional facility with an outstanding golf course redesigned by world-renowned architect Eric Larsen in 2014. We look forward to partnering with Rich Podwalski, PGA pro, and his team to put on a first- class event, synonymous with Folds of Honor.
For those of you that are new to our event, we are the Northeast Florida branch of the national charity Folds of Honor. FOH was founded in 2007 by Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, a PGA member and F-16 fighter pilot with 301st Squadron who served three tours of duty in Iraq. Lt. Col. Rooney made it his life’s mission to leave no soldier’s family behind with his charity that has provided over 51,000 educational scholarships to deserving children and spouses of our disabled, fallen military and first responder heroes.
We are proud to follow in his footsteps, and have provided over 125 scholarships to families in Duval, St. John’s and Nassau counties supporting our local heroes. Education remains the key to helping ensure the success of the family members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Our charity golf event will be held on Monday, May 13 and will include our traditional flag folding ceremony, honoring all our veterans, as well as the Seal Team parachute jump onto the 18th fairway.
The golf will conclude with dinner and cocktails and a Gold Star family guest speaker telling their personal story and how FOH has impacted their lives. We will end the evening with a “live Auction” you will not want to miss! This will be one of North East Florida’s premier charity events so plan on joining us in celebrating our military and first responder heroes and giving back to help change the lives of these deserving families.
